The Center serves Kentucky through education and initiatives which expand and diversify audiences while enhancing their understanding, appreciation, and support for the arts. The Center strives to challenge, stimulate, and entertain while operating in a fiscally responsible manner and acting as an economic and cultural catalyst for the Commonwealth.

Part of our mission is to serve children through statewide arts education programs. Our many educational programs, including the Governor’s School for the Arts, remain unmatched by any other performing arts center of comparable size in the nation. More than 100,000 youth are served annually through our education programs.

Our Accessibility Services ensure that everyone can experience the wonders of the performing arts without barriers or restrictions. Audio Description provides live descriptions for the visually impaired, while Captioned Theater offers the deaf and hard of hearing a way to enjoy performances. Assistive Listening provides infrared hearing devices for the hearing impaired.
